Clinical Psychology Intern

I am currently pursing my master’s degree in clinical psychology at Roosevelt University. I started my college journey as a pre-pharmacy major and quickly realized that- as much as I loved Chemistry- it was not for me. I made the bold decision of switching my major to psychology during my senior year. After completing the bachelor’s program, I decided to get my master’s in business psychology. My original intention was to please my parents with this degree – however, my program director encouraged me to follow my passion for clinical psychology.

I am a strong advocate for mental health. I believe that mental health should not be viewed as a luxury, but rather a necessity. I was born in West Africa, Ghana and moved to the US at age 13. Therapy was never a thing in my household, and we were not allowed to talk to anyone outside of the immediate family about our problems. I had to deal with most of my issues by sweeping it under a rug. When I finally had the opportunity to see a therapist, I felt a great sense of relief and much lighter. I want to be able to give my clients the same feeling that I had when I started therapy: A judgment free zone where they can talk about all their worries without and problems.

My hobbies include: cooking, watching TV, reading, and walking.
